NCT statement: Government has the knowledge and the means to stop birth trauma

The anniversary of the Birth Trauma All Party Parliamentary Group's report, Listen to Mums, and the annual Birth Trauma Summit run by Make Birth Better present an important moment to pause and recognise the experience of parents who have had traumatic births. These parents deserve immense compassion and empathy, but even more than that they deserve change to make maternity safety a top priority in the UK.

NCT writes to UK’s senior midwives in support ahead of International Day of the Midwife

This International Day of the Midwife (5 May), the NCT (National Childbirth Trust) has issued an open letter to the Chief Midwives of the United Kingdom. The letter, written by NCT Chief Executive Angela McConville on behalf of the NCT community as well as new and expectant parents, is a rallying call of gratitude, solidarity and concern for the midwifery profession and maternity services under strain.

Organisations call for the Government to accelerate action on women’s health

On the eve of International Women’s Day, The Royal College of Obstetrician & Gynaecologists along with 48 other organisations representing women’s health and mental health, including NCT, called for concrete action to ensure women receive the quality healthcare they need across their lifetime.
